THERE has always been a sense of inevitability surrounding a possible fight between former world champion Daniel Geale and former world title challenger Jarrod Fletcher.

And while their careers have almost always looked to be going in different directions, their trajectory has found them in the same place – in need of a high profile win – which both Geale and Fletcher hopes will come at the expense of each other.

The high stakes fight will take place on Wednesday December 3rd at the Horden Pavilion in Moore Park, Sydney and will be televised live on Main Event pay-per-view.The twelve round IBF Pan Pacific middleweight title fight will serve as an eliminator of sorts as the winner will earn a lofty world rating by the IBF middleweight strap – currently held by Jermain Taylor – who dethroned Australia’s Sam Soliman last week.

Both Geale, 33, and Fletcher, 30, were last seen in title fights abroad, falling in admirable albeit one-sided stoppage defeats to divisional leaders Gennady Golovkin and Daniel Jacobs respectively. The card, promoted by Grange Old School Boxing, will boast a stacked undercard of Australian title fights, including a salivating clash between heavy hitting prospects Kerry Foley (14-2-1, 12 KOs) and Trent Broadhurst (12-1, 8 KOs).

Providing he successfully defends his Australian super middleweight title against Renold Quinlan this month, Jake Carr (8-0, 3 KOs) will face crafty Queenslander Faris Chevalier (6-1, 4 KOs) while Mark Flanagan (16-4, 10 KOs) and Shane Quinn (10-1-1, 8 KOs) will collide to see who is potentially the hardest punching cruiserweight in the country
